El Capitán is Marc Ravaris, the owner and operator of four small businesses. He needed a Web site to showcase his businesses as well as have a fun place for his clients to go.

For Marc I wrote a custom CMS using Ruby on Rails, that includes a WYSIWYG editor giving him more control of the sites appearance. The power of TinyMCE allows him to format text (bold, italics, underline, fonts, font size, color, etc etc), as well as insert links, tables, and even images.
The site also includes interactive slideshows (thank you JonDesign), which Marc can administer with his custom CMS, a message board, and an interactive map (with google maps) showing locations to some of his businesses.
In addition, I worked with a graphic designer to create the look and feel for the site. The graphic designer designed the logos and inspired the original concept for the website, however, I did all the graphic work for the site, including mouse over effects, making the scroll work for any height of content, watermarking each section, and optimizing images for faster downloads. This project have me a lot of experience with Adobe Photoshop®.
